Three years running, BTS has received Grammy nominations, and this year, the biggest K-pop act in the world created history by earning two significant nominations for the 2023 awards. In 2020, BTS received their first-ever Grammy nomination for Dynamite, the lead single from their Sumner album, and their first Billboard Hot 100 number one.
Bangtan Boys received another nomination in the same Best Duo/Group category later in 2021. Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for My Universe ft. Coldplay and Best Music Video for Yet To Come are among BTS’ 2023 Grammy nominations.
The nominations are particularly noteworthy because Yet To Come is the first Korean song to ever receive a Grammy nomination. The fact that BTS was the first Asian group to be able to break down language barriers and spread the Korean language outside has now been acknowledged as one of the most significant pop culture effects of our time.
Additionally, both of these songs claim BTS leader RM as the songwriter. Suga and Jhope received writing credits for Yet to Come as well, making the complete BTS rap group now Grammy-nominated songwriters!
